Now Fermenting

During the past 20 years, a new Louisiana crop has blossomed—white and red wine grapes.

The enticing green vineyards of Louisiana offer oenophiles (or novice wine enthusiasts) a unique Southern twist on traditional wine profiles. Visit these Louisiana vineyards for wine tastings and live music amongst the vines.

Enjoy a bottle of Port of New Orleans or North Coast Dah Red from Pontchartrain Vineyards in Bush while listening to regional music during their popular Jazz'n the Vines concert series.

In July and August, head toward Landry Vineyards in West Monroe for a grape stomping to celebrate the harvest while sipping a glass of peach muscadine or blackberry merlot.

Also in West Monroe: Two Warriors Meadery. Mead, also known as honey wine, has roots in ancient Europe, and Two Warriors is the first business producing it in Louisiana.
