Gilla Brewing Company

Founded by Brad Andersen, Alex Shillings and Derek Stewart and opened in October 2019, Gilla Brewing Company joins a crowd of Baton Rouge area breweries (namely: Tin Roof Brewing Co., Southern Craft Brewing Co. and Rally Cap Brewing), catering to the ever-growing market of craft beer lovers.

The Gonzales facility is a 2,400-square-foot brewing operation and taproom with state-of-the-art equipment and contemporary furnishings, perfect for small parties or casual meetups. Among the 12 taps behind the bar, you’ll find a range of sours, a New England IPA and a coffee stout brewed in collaboration with Baton Rouge’s Titan Coffee Company. Gilla’s beers are served alongside those from other Louisiana breweries including Gnarly Barley Brewing Co. and Parish Brewing.

Being a small-batch nanobrewery with limited-run beers, you’ll find Gilla Brewing Company’s beers only in its taproom — the company isn’t distributing cans or bottles, though that is part of its long-term plans. That’s all the more reason to head down to Gonzales to taste what’s on tap in person.
